7 Days of Sex

 So I’m flipping through channels and come  across a “7 Days of Sex” commercial on Lifetime. Not one of my favorite channels, but I was instantly drawn in. I thought it was going to be a week long movie marathon with super softcore, only for commercial tv sex scenes, but it’s a reality show! The show follows a few married couples that decide to take the challenge of having sex every day for seven days. From what I’ve seen in the commercial and website, these couples are trying to save their marriages by becoming more intimate and learning more about the sexual needs of their partner and themselves. All in the process they become closer and more open with each other.  I think it’s a great idea for a show.

By the looks of the comments on the Lifetime website, quite a few people aren’t on board with the idea. Comments ranging from this show advocates teen sex, it’s another raunchy reality show, just a money-making scheme for the couples, and more. I personally don’t think this show will make teens want to have sex. As one of the teens that commented said, “Hormones make us want to have sex, duh.” I feel that some people aren’t really into it because they’re not comfortable with where they are sexually. People forget that our sexuality is a part of who we are, sex is a physiological need. It’s biology. Sex isn’t a bad thing, especially between ANY couple who wants to strengthen their bond in all ways.
